How To Crush Your Limiting Beliefs?

I was the queen of self sabotage. Early on in my business, I would absolutely self-sabotage. I would be the girl who had the vision board, my why(s) all figured out, my follow up sheet & everything I need to do & I'd be on it for 2-3 months & then all of a sudden for whatever reason, I'd stop working, showing up or even plugging in. In my mind it would be everyone else's fault - I don't feel inspired - it's my team or the products or the system or some xyz reason but I'd stop showing up.

Limiting beliefs are the basis of all of our fear.

Fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of being judged. Some of us are actually afraid of success. All because of our limiting beliefs. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Being aware of our limiting beliefs takes the power back from the fear, giving it into your hands so you can live a fuller & more fearless life.

Here are some examples of Limiting Beliefs & how to combat them when the fear creeps in -

  • Fear Of Being Judged

When you start your own business or do anything new, the fear of being judged by family & friends creeps in more quickly than anything else.

Solution - I need to get over the fear of being judged. The people that love me & support me won't judge me. And those that don't, their opinions don't matter. You can not let the opinion of others STOP you from living your life & doing what you love.

  • Who am I to be successful?

A lot of people struggled with the thought of success. They struggled with the impostor syndrome thinking who the heck are they to say this or do this or even build a business? Who the heck are they to lead or teach other people or show up and make a change? I'm just a college dropout, I'm just a "wife", I'm just a "mom". I'm not those people that these things happen to. I'm not that person that success happens to.

Solution - Start by OWNING IT. What you have to decide before you get into any business or before you start seeing success in your business, in your life, in your truth or passion or whatever the journey you are on is that you are worth it. You have to decide who you are to have that. For me it's Meagan effing Anderson - that's who I am to have this. And my journey, my truth, my story & things that I know & skills that I have can change lives if I share them. That's who I am to have this.

So next time the though of who I am to be successful comes in, step into your power & remind yourself of your worthiness.

  • Fear of judgement

Rejection stinks. I won't lie. We've all been through rejection & it's not fun. But you can not let the fear of rejection stop you from doing what you love or whatever it is that you want to do.

Solution - Ask yourself what's the worst thing that can happen if you get rejected? Someone will say no or you'll make a mistake or mess of yourself. What else can go wrong?

Then think of what can go right? What will you learn from being rejected? From making a mistake?

You are not along. People make mistakes all the time & it only helps them get better.

  • Fear of being Too Late

I'm too old for this / I'm too late, there are so many people already doing this / I've failed once before. . .

The excuses & reasons for not starting something new can be endless. No matter what the age, how many people already in the niche/industry, it's never too late & you always have something NEW to offer that other's don't.

Solution - Think of ways you can make the niche/industry yours. How can you own it? What new element can you bring to the table that others aren't? If you are selling make up, how can you make women feel empowered that no-one else is trying to do?

And even if you fail, at least you won't live with regrets or what-if(s).

  • I'm don't know anything about the industry/niche

A lot of people don't do anything new because of the fear of not having all the information. Being scared of joining NM because you don't know anything about it or being scared of starting that food blog because you are not so tech-savvy. Whatever your niche/industry be that you want to start in, there's always ways to learn on the job.

Solution - Find out how you can learn about the industry or the niche you want to get in? Find a coach/mentor or a friend whose done it & ask them for help.

You will stumble, you will be overwhelmed but it's better to get paid to learn & make mistakes than to not do anything at all.

How To Make Manifesting A Part Of Your Daily Routine?

There has been a lot of talk around law of attraction more so than ever since people watched & read The Secret.

But what is Law Of Attraction?

Simply put, the Law of Attraction is the ability to attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on.

So, how does one apply the law of attraction? How can you attract what you want in your lives?

The answer is simple - Gratitude + Bliss aka improving your mindset.

Without being grateful for what you have, you can not attract anything in your life. And without having the right mindset - to stay positive, think happy thoughts & be grateful - you'll be doom and gloom you will remain under that cloud.

Here are some ways you can start leveraging the Law Of Attraction and make manifesting a part of your daily routine!

1) Make a list of all the things which make you completely happy.  Then go out and do it. See if you can fill an entire week of your free time with activities that are fun and emotionally rewarding to you.  

2) Get a journal   Every morning when you wake up, or every night before bed write out your feels about the way you plan to, or spent your day.  Make a point to express how you feel. Your feelings are extremely important because they inform the law of attraction as to your present vibration.

3) Each day search out activities that you may have wished to try but never got around to doing them.  The more new and fun activities that you engage in the more expanded you will feel.  You will naturally move into a higher more enlightened state. New activities open up your inner being much more than activities that you have become too familiar with.  When you are in a new environment you easily move into a more aware and open state.

Before you know it, you will be a change in your own personal energy.  Then you can begin to think more about what you would like to manifest in your life.  Be clear about your desire and allow the law of attraction to go to work to do wonders in bringing about your desires.  

To get the most benefits from the law of attraction, remember to do your best to stay in a state of joy and openness.  As you go through your daily activities you may not even be aware of it but you can easily shut down. Your old routine will easily hold on to old thought patterns--shake up your routine when possible and practice mindfulness and awareness to increase your manifesting powers!

Radical Self Care - 10 ways to add more self love in your life

What’s the first thing that comes to your mind when you think or hear the term - Radical Self Care?

If you are not familiar with the term radical, let’s skip that for a moment, will talk about it later & talk about “self-care”.

What are some things you do to take care of yourself? Something you do exclusively just for YOU?

Do you get a massage? Do you color your hair or get a pedicure? Maybe go for a spa or get some quiet time to read? Do you go shopping?

Self-care means different things for different people! As Ruby Warrington, author of “Material Girl, Mystical World” rightly puts it, self-care is a holistic practice. It’s not just limited to rose-scented Epsom salt baths (they are given!!) but a more holistic approach covering the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspect of your life/body.

Why radical?

Self-care is a radical notion for women, especially moms/wives or busy career women that are constantly judged for putting their needs first before others. It’s against the societal norms and hence it’s radical.

Here’s a list of 10 things you can do to add more radical self-care into your life and get started RIGHT NOW! No excuses. You don’t need to get extra things, you don’t need to spend any extra $$ to get started and hence have no excuses to stop you from taking action!

Ready? Let’s Dive in!

  1. Meditation -  Meditation for me is a simple exercise of breathing in & out & making time to have a pulse check with myself. You can meditate in a lot of different ways, from sitting up straight and listening to your breath or you could listen to a guided tune on YouTube or an app on your phone that allows you to quiet that monkey mind; it can also be active meditation in form of walks in nature. Whatever helps you quiet the internal chatter and listen.

  2. Eat Whole - Read it again! I didn’t say diet/ I didn’t say eat a certain way or certain food or go Keto! Focus on eating whole, healthy that makes you and your body happy. It’s a mindset shift.

    Those of you who know me, also know that I was a self proclaimed junk food queen. I still love my junk food, but when I started taking care of myself, started paying attention to my body, putting myself first, those cans of Coke stopped appealing me.
     

  3. Live in the moment -  How many of you struggle with staying in the present moment? Not worrying about tomorrow, not feeling regret over something in the past, just focused on what’s in front of you or what’s happening in THAT moment? I won’t deny, the struggle is real but you’ve got to train your mind to stay in the present rather than staying stuck on that never-ending conveyor belt of past, present, past, present, past present. You got to focus on the present.
     

  4. Move your body -  What are some things that you guys do for your body? Do you go to the gym? Do you lift weights? Do you do cardio? Do you do classes? Do you go for walks?

    I know you can list a 100 reasons why you can’t go to the gym or take a class or take time out to move your body from finances to kids, husband etc. etc. But I want to tell you baby doll they are all excuses! There I said it! You don’t need to spend $$ if you can’t to move your body. There are so many other ways like dancing your heart out, walking outdoors in nature & yoga! All you have to do is make it a priority & take time out!
     

  5. Forgive yourself - A lot of people have 2 different reactions when I say this. 1) But Meagan, what do I forgive myself for? 2) That’s ridiculous! I haven’t done anything wrong!

    If you are the reactive or the latter types, then this point is more so for you! Radical self love starts with forgiving yourself for being so harsh on yourself, setting unreasonable expectations and putting chains or barriers around yourself. If you’re regretting a bad decision you made, or if you wish you’d done something differently, or if you have a habit that you’re trying to give up and it’s hard, it’s probably because you are being hard on yourself. If reading all the pointers & thinking of taking time off for yourself makes you feel undeserving it’s because you are being too hard on yourself and you need to forgive yourself. Replace the ego with love and start working on self-forgiveness journey.
     

  6. Take Time Off - We are always running / doing / going somewhere. And in this hustle-bustle of life, it’s important to take some time off. Just retreat from the world, hang in your white flag and say - I am out!

    Some days, you’re just like, I’m not feeling it today. Maybe it’s a Saturday. Maybe you’re off work, and all you want to do is just unplug, stay in bed and watch Netflix. But we don’t always get to do it! We have kids, husband, family, chores. . . everything that needs us! But it’s okay to just say NO! It’s okay to take a day off, go in hibernation and rejuvenate yourself.

    And for the entrepreneur ladies, just like it’s important to take a day off, it’s equally essential to take a sabbatical from your electronics. Whether you are building a business, or following up with customers put the damn thing down for a few hrs. Not to mention your secondary devices like TVs, computers, gadgets etc. Give yourself some rest by getting away from the constant non=sleeping, non-ending world of social media. It’ll still be here when you’ll log in after a few hrs or even a few days.
     

  7. Epsom Salt bath - Rose scented epsom salt baths are given when it comes to self care. Right?! Just kidding. If you are not a bath person, you can always do looong uninterrupted showers or spa! Personally I love a good long epsom salt bath to raise my vibration. Sale bath not only balances your magnesium, it also affects your physiology and your mindset.

    I will simply soak myself in the bath for 20 minutes let my worries, stress, unbalanced and my funky energy all go down the drain. I visualize all the negative, clogged up energy that doesn’t serve me anymore going down the drain.
     

  8. Trust your intuition - If you are taking care of yourself, meditating, walking in the nature & connecting with yourself, you’re going to build a strong connection with your intuition and to your higher self.
     

  9. Massage - Get a massage or body scrub or spend time doing your own facial. Do something that’s a bit out of the norm, requires planning and gets you out of your comfort zone!

    Do things that you won’t usually do unless it’s a special occasion because you don’t feel deserved or worthy of splurging on yourself. Remember, you are worth of every penny and there is a way to make it happen, and every time you elevate yourself and you step up for yourself and you show up for yourself, and you do for yourself and sometimes you do a little splurge, you’re raising your vibe of what is possible for you. You’re raising your vibe of saying, Alright universe, I get it. I deserve this.
     

  10. Do what you love - Take time out to do something that you love. Be it a job or a hobby. Make a list of all the things that you love doing like activities or people that you want to be around, experiences you want to have, anything & everything that you love and that excites you. Make a list and then make it happen.
     

  11. Practice Gratitude - Bonus radical self love tip - practice gratitude. Be grateful for where you are, what you have, who you are and everyone who’s in your life right now. Your career or business, experiences, things around you. . . there’s so much to be grateful for. Become so grateful & so in love with your life that gratitude just exudes from you and becomes contagious to people around you.

Mindset Is Everything

When you think about the women you look up to the most in your life and in business, what comes to mind?

Charisma, experience, and expertise are usually at the top of the list, but would it surprise you to know that those are not the most important characteristics?

In fact, while those things do make a difference,  there’s one thing that is absolutely a game changer, and you can’t even see it.

Mindset.

It’s true. In everything you do, whether in business or in life, your mindset is the determining factor when it comes to your success and life. Without the right mindset, you will forever be attracting + working the wrong people, situations and even clients!

So if you’re really ready to manifest the life you WANT and DESERVE, you have to do some internal work. It’s time to make some changes to your own mindset.

Changing Your Attitude

One thing charismatic and personable people have in common is a good attitude. Think about it; you’ll probably never see these women you admire complaining about how the kids are sick, “again!” or that the cable repair guy is 40 minutes late, or even that the car blew a tire.

Instead, you see their expressions of gratitude in everything. If the kids are sick, they’re grateful to have a business that allows them to stay home and play nurse. If the cable guy is late, they’re grateful to have 40 extra minutes to read a book instead of watch television. And if the car died in the middle of running a week’s worth of errands, they’re happy to have found a mechanic who does great work at a reasonable price.

If you find yourself complaining—even in your head—turn your attitude around. There’s nearly always something to be grateful for, even in the worst situations. And when you can rethink and revise your attitude for the better, you’ll not only be happier, but you’ll start to attract what you actually WANT and love!

Growing Your Confidence

Here’s another thing these women you admire have in common: confidence. They believe in what they do. They believe in their ability to help others achieve the same thing. They walk with confidence filled with the knowledge that what they are about to say will change the lives of those who are listening. They don’t question or dislike who they are.

It’s not cocky or arrogant, it’s just confidence. And if you don’t have it yet, you can take steps to increase it.

Start by asking yourself, in any new or uncomfortable situation, “What’s the worst that could happen?”

Of those worst-case scenarios, look at what you have control over, and let the rest go!

So if you’ve agreed to speak in front of a small group of business owners, and your fear is that you’ll flub your speech, practicing beforehand will greatly improve your confidence.

Next, get inside the head of someone who is confident in what you’re about to do. Walk onto that stage as if you’ve been doing it for years, and not only will you feel more confident, but you’ll be more confident. You can use the “as if” attitude in everything from creating a new product to closing a sale. Whenever you feel your confidence failing, just remember to act as if you’ve done this successfully hundreds of times.

Just like how the person you’re talking to on the phone can hear a smile in your voice, and you can feel when someone in a bad mood enters the room --those around you (and the universe) can sense your mindset and respond accordingly!

How to Manifest What You Really Want In Life?

When you first hear about manifesting or the Law of Attraction you think “cool, I just have to visualize living in a mansion, driving a Benz, owning a jet and marrying a model etc”. and then just sit back and wait on it all to show up.

But it doesn’t work quite like that!

Here’s why-- every thought is creative - not just the good ones!

If you visualize the life of your dreams for just 60 seconds you begin to manifest it. This is totally true. "Well", you may say, "I have imagined living my dream life for a lot longer than 60 seconds. In fact, I have dreamt about it all my life sometimes spending hours lost in my fantasy and it still hasn't come true".  And I ask them, how much time did you spend feeling and focusing on the lack of having these things? Remember, Every Thought Is Creative!

Spending time visualizing your ideal life is great but do you maintain those thoughts throughout the rest of your day. Or, do you go around complaining about how bad things are?

My guess is, if you don't have the life of your dreams, then you do the second one! These negative thoughts are also creative and are much more abundant in the majority of people. If the thoughts are backed with high emotion then they manifest even faster! You literally cancel out the good work you have done in your visualization. You are storing up great things for yourself but through your dominant negative thinking, you are keeping them away from you!

Now, don't get me wrong, visualization is an extremely powerful tool that can and will totally transform your life, but only when you use it in accordance with the Law. The Law of Attraction always works. It never sleeps and it never fails. It is an unbending Universal Principle. Every thought is creative. Every single one. Therefore you need to change your dominant mental patterns before you can see any real tangible results from consciously trying to use this law.

So how do we do that?

By changing your focus. You must change the way you view your world. See the world as a nasty, unforgiving, greedy, violent place and that is what you will attract more of. Begin to look for the beauty that is around you. Look for the abundance even if you are not fully experiencing it in your own life right now. Look for the things you want. Try to notice all the people who are currently enjoying the life you want to live and rejoice in their good fortune.

So how do we do that?

Simple! You get into a place of gratitude for what you already have.

What you focus on you get more of and what you place your attention on expands! By being grateful for what is in your life at the moment you put our attention on what you like and you get more of it. By feeling good about areas of your life that are working you are sending out very positive thoughts that the Law of Attraction immediately begins to manifest. What you focus on you get more of and what you place your attention on expands!!!

Are you starting to see the power of gratitude and how it can work wonders?

If, on the other hand, you allow your attention and focus to center around the things that are not working in your life then they will expand and you will get more of what you don't want. Think about this seriously. Give it some real thought. Can you identify areas in your life where this has happened or is continuing to happen now? The sayings in our everyday language sum up this Universal Law, "it never rains but it pours", "when something goes wrong, everything goes wrong", "Murphy's law at work again" etc.  

If you find yourself getting jealous over another person's good fortune then you are actually affirming that you don't have what they do and focusing your attention on your own lack! However, by having gratitude for what you do have and celebrating another's good fortune you are actually focusing your attention on what you do want and ..... What you focus on you get more of and what you place your attention on expands!

So be grateful for what you do have. Be happy for another person's success. Show gratitude all the time and your focus will be on the positive and your attention will be placed on what you want. Your attitude will change when your attention is squarely placed on the things in life that you want and you do this through gratitude. So to keep you on track and in an attitude of gratitude always remember these two aspects of the law.

Meditation Made Easy : Beginner's Series For Boss Babes Mindset

It’s so easy to think that meditation needs to be difficult and that there’s no time to do it.. I know, I’ve been there. * Meditation increases acceptance.

SO many times I’ve been asked “How do I start meditating?” “How can I make it work for me?” “Where do I start?” “What if I can’t quiet my mind?” “Do I have to close my eyes?”

I realized there is a HUGE need to guide but I also realized it’s not something that can be conquered in one tidy conversation. Beginning your meditation practice is a journey, it will serve you for the rest of your life. I honestly believe it’s one of the most empowering things you can ever do for yourself.
